William Gordon-Harris is an entrepreneur, investor and operator whose background spans property investment, development finance and private capital, giving him a strong grounding in institutional-style investment strategy as well as hands-on operational scaling, skills he later applied to transforming Knoops from a niche Sussex chocolatier into an internationally scalable hospitality brand.
William discovered Knoops in Rye and took a major stake in the business in 2019, leading a strategic restructuring designed to prepare the company for rapid expansion. What initially began as a short-term incubation project evolved into a long-term commitment to building a global consumer brand driven by performance, purpose and product quality. Since becoming CEO, he has overseen significant UK growth and international expansion plans while continuing to apply the investment discipline and long-term strategic thinking developed during his years in real estate and private capital markets.
UK founded in Rye, East Sussex, in 2013 Knoops has grown from a single store into a global chocolate drinks brand with more than 30 physical locations. Its world-leading Chocolate Library allows customers to personalise sustainably sourced chocolates across hot, iced, milkshake and frozen drinks.
